2018 Canada Post Disruption
UPDATE: Nov 14th - As strikes continue in Toronto and the surrounding areas, please be advised that orders placed through Canada Post will see major delays, up to 2 weeks.
Canada Post Rotating Strikes
The CUPW has announced rotating strike actions. While most strikes will last 24 hours, they may extend the strike in any location. These rotating strike may delay the delivery of your parcel if you are in an affected area.
If you're worried your next order may be affected, here are some options:
What You Can Do
1) Order Early
If you placed your order early enough, you should not be affected by the Canada Post labour disruption. Please note the following recommended last shipping dates for Canada Post Expedited Parcel with Healthwick:
- British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Newfoundland - October 9th
- PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Manitoba - October 9th
- Ontario or Quebec - October 15th
As these dates have now passed, you may want to:
2) Choose UPS Courier
Customers also have the option of UPS for an additional charge. UPS Standard shipping will take 2-8 business days after leaving the warehouse, with no signature required.
Please note that UPS is not available for:
- PO Boxes
- Select Rural Addresses (due to cost of shipping)
3) Choose Pick Up in office (Ontario Only) and send a courier of your choosing to pick up - $2 processing fee
Ontario residents also have the option of picking up their order at the Healthwick office, located at 1360 Speers Rd in Oakville, ON. Orders are generally ready the next business day for pickup, as long as all items are in stock. You will receive an email when your order is ready for pickup. Please note, pick up orders may be in manufacturers boxes. Once you receive the email that your order is ready for pick-up, you can send your courier or taxi to pick it up, just let us know in the order notes who you're sending so we can have it ready to go for them.
What’s the difference between UPS and Canada Post Expedited Parcel?
UPS’s shipping times are the same as Canada Post Expedited Parcel's normal delivery times, but there are two important differences:
1) UPS cannot deliver to PO Boxes or FlexDelivery addresses, as these are both owned by Canada Post.
2) If you're not home to receive your parcel, UPS will leave it in a safe place. If they don't feel there is a safe location to leave it, they will bring it to the nearest UPS point instead of the post office for pickup.
What if my order is in transit and Canada Post goes on strike/ labour disruption?
If your order was shipped by UPS, there will be no disruption.
If your order was shipped by Canada Post Expedited Parcel, your parcel may be held or delayed by Canada Post until the labour disruption in that area is resolved. You may opt to place another order by UPS, but unfortunately we cannot refund or cancel the original order that is in transit with Canada Post – it will arrive once the labour disruption is resolved.
If I choose UPS, will my order still be discreetly packaged?
Yes! All Healthwick orders are discreetly packaged and the shipping label says “Britnell Ventures”, our parent company.
Can I still ship to my Canada Post Flex Address?
Yes, but if Canada Post announces a labour disruption and your order is still in transit, it may not be available for pick up until after the disruption is resolved, which could be several weeks. You cannot ship to a Canada Post Flex Address by UPS.
As always, don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or if we can help.
